Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Hagan

Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Hagan, passed away at the age of 10 on May 13, 2025. She is survived by her parents Kathryn and Lane Hagan, brother Drew, and sisters Grace and Ann Curtis; grandparents Karen and Buddy Green, Uncle William (Mallory) Green, cousins Will, Caroline, and John Green, great-grandparents Margie and Robin Embry, grandparents Jana and Paul Hagan, and numerous other family and dear friends. After suffering an injury shortly after birth on June 14, 2014, her parents were told to take their baby home and love her because she was not expected to survive. Despite suffering from severe disabilities, Libby managed to defy the odds. She embodied perseverance and joy in the face of all of her struggles. She was beloved by family, friends, and fellow students at Cherokee Bend Elementary and had a smile that could light up any room. A special thank you to her nurses, Julie and April, and all of the teachers, physicians, and therapists who impacted her life in such a positive way. A nonprofit was started in her honor, Libby’s Friends, that has impacted over 1000 families with disabilities. Her parents are honored to carry on her legacy.
