

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Sunday, October 11th, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209.
Mary Gail was born in Screven, GA. She attended Georgia State College for Women, Auburn University, and received her Master in Arts from The University of Alabama.
Mary Gail taught Geometry and Algebra in public school, later becoming a (one of the first female) Certified Public Accountant in Tuscaloosa, AL in private practice.
She was a life-long help and companion to her husband, Wilfred, in managing his medical practice, optical shop, and in all business endeavors. They worked side by side at adjoining offices, and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout their 65 years of marriage.
Mary Gail served in several community roles: member of Tuscaloosa Junior League, Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa County Medical Society, Board Director and Secretary of the Phoenix House; and, was also honored for her service with the Tuscaloosa Medical Alliance.
She taught 10th grade Sunday School at Calvary Baptist church for many years. She and her husband, Wilfred, taught two-year-old Sunday School together at First Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa. They attended the Agape Sunday School Class together at First Baptist Church for twenty years.
Mary Gail is predeceased by her parents, Troy and Esther Williams of Douglas, GA , her brother, Bailey (Tina) Williams, of Atlanta, GA, and grandson Jake Wiggins of Birmingham, AL.
Mary Gail was a beloved wife to Dr. Wilfred W. Yeargan, Jr., and mother to three children: Mary Ellen ( Mike) Snell, Linda Yeargan, and Wilfred Ward Yeargan, III, Esquire.
She was deeply loved and admired by her grandchildren: Jake Wiggins (deceased), Taegen Wiggins, Sam Wiggins, and Grace (Joel) Samec, with two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Ann Samec and Marcella Marie Samec.
We will remember her strong faith and integrity, unique character, creativity, sharp wit, keen intelligence, and dry southern humor. She will be missed.
