Maureen T. Shaffer, 66, of Birmingham, Al died Thursday November 12, 2015. She was born March 21, 1949, beloved daughter of James and Rosella Shaffer. She is survived by her four cousins, Cathy Rockett, Tim Meehan, Mary Ann Renna and Patricia Hillen. She was retired from the Social Security Administration. She was an avid bird enthusiast and past President of the Birmingham Audubon Society as well as past Field Trip Chairperson and Society and Hospitality Chairperson. She was loved and respected by Birders across Alabama. She was devoted to her family, friends and faith, and always had a smile and friendly hello to all. Visitation will be at 10:00 am November 17th at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 am. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Birmingham Audubon Society.
