Melanie Jeanne Crandall, age 64, passed away on September 8, 2018. A resident of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, she graduated from Vestavia Hills High School and went on to graduate with a B.S. in Nursing from The University of Montevallo and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is survived by her daughters Heather Willis Ray, Kim Willis Guest (Chris), Lindsay Willis Kilgore, Emily Brooke Absten, and Sarah Elyse Sanders (Jonathon) and her grandchildren Ella Claire Guest, Walter Willis Kilgore, Shepherd Carldon Ray, Graham Lawrence Guest, and Helen Marchand Ray. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Homer Lewis Crandall, Sr. and June Covar Crandall. She was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church where she was involved with the Angel Tree Ministry, and was dedicated to her profession as a nurse at Brookwood Hospital. A private family memorial will be held in celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
