Melinda graduated from Oak Grove High School and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and worked as a social worker, devoting herself to causes such as prevention of child abuse and protection of battered women. She was a loving mother, sister, neighbor and friend who will be remembered for her bright smile, creativity, energy and warmth.
She is survived by her two children, Stuart and Holly Gwin, and her brother, Randy Gossett.
A memorial will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Ridout's Valley Chapel 1800 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL 35209, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 P.M.
