

Michael Wallace Davis died February 4, 2016, after a long illness. Mike was born in Chattanooga, TN the son of Thomas Lee and Maurice Jernigan Davis. He was a graduate of Chattanooga High School class of 1958. He attended Georgia Tech and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Combustion Engineering for twenty seven years, and served in many different capacities during his years with the engineering firm. After early retirement he started a service supply business in Birmingham, AL called Johnstone Supply. The business expanded into TN over the years.
Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Wooten Davis, four children, Susan Davis Shuster (John), Robin Davis Brudi (Larry), Michelle Davis Klasing (David), and Michael Davis, Jr. (Toni). He has 10 beloved grandchildren, Mary Grace, Ben, Molly & Joseph Shuster, Robert, Michael, & Campbell Brudi, Michael, Alex, & Nicholas Davis. He is survived also by his brother Dave M. Davis (Joan), and a number of loving in-laws, nieces, & nephews.
Mike was such a leader in the groups he was a member of and loved by many. He had a generous and helpful nature and was mentor to many. This was such a fulfilling part of his life to share his knowledge, enthusiasm and faith with others. He also was a car enthusiast and a craftsman and a true Saint of God.
The family will receive friends at Cathedral Church of the Advent on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11:00 a.m.
The family ask that in place of flowers contributions be made to Cathedral Church of the Advent, Grace Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, TN or American Pulmonary Institute.
