Michael Stanley Dodd

Mike was born May 29, 1946 in Arab, Alabama to the late Stanley W. and Norma F. Dodd. He graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1978 with a BS degree in Accounting. Mike served in the United States Navy during Vietnam and also served in the Naval Reserve, both during 1965 - 1971.

Mike started his career at Loveman's Department store. He then enjoyed a long career in the dairy business, where he worked for Barber's Dairies in Birmingham, AL and at Dairy Fresh in Hattiesburg, MS, before his retirement in 2011. He loved golfing and fishing.

Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Deidre Cain Dodd. Their marriage was a true ministry partnership, anchored by a deep faith in Christ and a mutual calling to serve others.

Mike is also survived by his sister Joyce Thompson (Bill); niece Christy Cassady, and his nephews: Joe Cain, III (Ada), Joseph B. Pennington (April), Jason R. Powell, Jeremy L. Dodd (Dawn), Stanley B. Dodd (Laura Ashleigh) ,Timothy D. Powell (Marie), and (7) great nieces and nephews. Mike was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother Phillip W. Dodd and a nephew Nathaniel Dodd.

Visitation will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with the Funeral Service following at 1:00 pm. Burial will be private for the family.
