Michael Clifford Reid

Michael Clifford Reid, age 71, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026. Born September 22, 1954 in Montgomery, Alabama, he was the son of the late Britt and Gwen Reid. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 44 years, Diane Reid; his daughter, Jennifer (Schrieber) and by his son, William. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gregory and Eleni Schrieber.

An avid outdoorsman, Michael relished his time hiking, biking, camping and canoeing, particularly with his wife, children and grandchildren. He also loved music and could often be found immersed in the sounds of James Taylor, the Beatles, Carole King and a wide variety of all types of music. An Auburn fan, he spent his fall Saturdays cheering on the Tigers, often with his son, Will.

He was compassionate, and genuinely cared about people, whether he knew them or not. Michael found deep joy in spending time with his family. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren immensely and took joy in seeing them smile. Above all things, he did everything to ensure his family was happy and taken care of.

Friends are cordially invited to a public visitation with the family on Monday, July 13th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama. There will be an outdoor service on Tuesday, July 14th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Pavilion at Camp Vakakes located at 33836 Highway 25, Harpersville, Alabama 35078, followed by the burial at St. Paul’s Cemetery on the same property grounds.
