Nancy Clendinning Mason

MASON, NANCY C. Nancy C. Mason of Homewood, AL, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2010, with her family by her side. Nancy was born January 31, 1933, in Passaic, NJ. She was the first generation of her family born in the United States, her family having immigrated from Lurgan, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. She is predeceased by her husband Stanhope B. Mason, Jr., and her parents Colonel and Mrs. Thomas B. Clendinning. Nancy will always be remembered for her kindness, love, and desire to always help others. She volunteered for many organizations in the Birmingham area giving freely of her time. May the road rise to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Amen. She is survived by her four sons, Stanhope B. Mason III (Melynda) of Mobile, Tom Mason (Margie) of Homewood, James Mason (Sheri) of Birmingham, Richard Mason (Gina) of Birmingham, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Geri Mason of Fort Washington, MD, one granddaughter and five grandsons. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 21, 2010, from 9 AM-11 AM at Ridout's Valley Chapel followed by a celebration of her life at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Demopolis, AL.
