

Niame Paul Boackle, 64, of Birmingham, AL passed away on May 11, 2026. The youngest of five children, he grew up and was a lifelong resident of Birmingham and a member of St. Elias Maronite Catholic church. Known as “Jo Jo” to the many friends he made throughout his life, Niame loved his family deeply and was a spirited person who never met a stranger.
Niame is preceded in death by his parents, Niame and Alice Boackle, his sister, Janice Stewart, and his brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Joyce Boackle. He is survived by two siblings, Norma Ajlouny (Naseem) and Dave Boackle, and a brother-in-law, Randall Stewart. Niame is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Gina Henley (John), Tammi Dahle (John), Robert Stewart (Shannon), Naseem Ajlouny (Tena), Ashley Shunnara (Aziz), and Lauren Herron (Tony) as well as numerous great nieces and nephews, Katharine Henley, Lily Henley, Saliba Shunnara, Brooke Stewart, Jack Dahle, Noah Shunnara, Marisa Ajlouny, Zachary Stewart, Ben Dahle, Tyler Stewart, Becca Ajlouny, Peyton Herron, and Samantha Herron.
Visitation is planned for Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 9 am with a funeral mass following at 10 am. Visitation and mass will be held at St. Elias Maronite Catholic church located at 836 8th Street South, Birmingham, Alabama. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery with a mercy meal immediately following in the church hall.
