

Patricia (Patsy) Lanier Beaird, 86, of Birmingham, passed away on May 10th, 2021. Patsy was born in Atlanta but resided much of her early life in Nashville where she was a graduate of Hillsboro High School. Patsy attended and graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in Social Work. Shortly after graduation, she began working for the Social Security Administration. It was during this time that fate would introduce her to her future husband, James Riley Beaird. The couple soon relocated back in Birmingham and moved into Fox Hall Apartments, where they met and made numerous friends for life in what simply became known as The Supper Club. (no elipses)
Patsy left work to raise a family, but she did not remain idle. She was active in many charitable activities throughout her life including, Civiettes, Junior League, Meals on Wheels, Firehouse Shelter and hosting foreign exchange students, to name but a few. Most recently Patsy and Jim would help host homeless families at Saint Luke’s Episopal Church where they were long-time members. They were active in many ministries over the years, most recently serving breakfast on Sunday mornings.
Patsy was preceded in death just three weeks ago by husband, James Riley Beaird and her parents William McKinley Lanier and Alexandria Milan. She is survived by her son, William (Bill) Dow Beaird (Jill Wesnor), 2 grandsons James Alexander Beaird, Andrew Milam Beaird and their mother Melissa Mickle Beaird.
