Patrick Miles McNamee Sr.

MCNAMEE, PATRICK MILES Patrick Miles McNamee, 61, of Birmingham, AL passed away Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, and son. We will miss him beyond words. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary Florence Miles McNamee and John Bernard McNamee; and his sister, Kay Irene McNamee. Mr. McNamee is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marguerite Monte McNamee; two children, Jennifer Shay McNamee and Patrick Miles (Shannon) McNamee, Jr; five siblings, Jack Bernard (Monie) McNamee, Mary Sue (Don) Woods, Charles Harry (Melinda) McNamee, Steven Ellis (Megan) McNamee, and Jeanne Marie (John) Estis. Patrick was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the Chapel at UAB Hospital. He was a graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He traveled the southeast in his long career as Regional Sales Manager of Indurall Coatings, Inc. After leaving the paint business, he set his sights on becoming a notary public and practicing paralegal. Once he retired, Patrick became a familiar face both in front of and behind the counter of Pappas Grill in Vestavia Hills. His other interests and hobbies included the Birmingham Record Collectors Association, Sports Car Club of America, and Formula One. Patrick was also a talented and accomplished fine artist and writer. He was as creative as he was kind. A genuine friend and a sweet soul always. He left us too soon. Visitation will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 P.M., with prayer service at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Sorrows. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. >
