Peggy Karr Zanaty of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at the age of 90. Born May 20, 1936, she spent a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Judge Wadell Charles Zanaty, Jr., who preceded her in death after 69 years of marriage.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberley Zanaty Reeves, and her husband, Randy, of Homewood along with grandson, Chuck Reeves, of Sorrento, Florida. She is also survived by her brother, Bobby Karr, of Newnan, Georgia, and brothers-in-law, Charles N. Zanaty, Sr. and Edward S. Zanaty, Sr. both of Homewood along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family members and friends.
Peggy was a member of the Weed & Seed Garden Club and actively volunteered with numerous groups to include Prime Time Treasures as well as with the Homewood High School Patriot Band. She was the angel that was there without being asked. Ever elegant and well composed, she was a true lady with a servant’s heart. She loved her family and friends dearly, with a lifetime of adventures, travels, and gatherings full of laughter and joy. She had a way of making people feel special and many of her friendships became more like family. She was deeply loved by many and she will be missed more than words can express.
