

He was born on November 15, 1941, to Peyton Dandridge Bibb and Hulda McNeel Bibb. He graduated from Indian Springs School in 1959 before earning his undergraduate degree from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee in 1963, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1969.
Peyton spent more than fifty years as a practicing attorney, first with South Central Bell, then BellSouth, and later served as an of counsel at the law firm of Haskell Slaughter Young & Rediker. He was a dedicated member of St. Mary’s-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church as past Senior Warden of the Vestry, member of The Country Club of Birmingham, Highlands Country Club, and the Redstone Club, where he treasured the many friendships that he made over the years.
Peyton was a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years Cindy Potts Bibb and their two children Peyton Dandridge Bibb, III of Charlotte, NC and Murray McNeel Bibb (Chandler) of Birmingham, AL, his sister Adele Bibb Colvin (Chuck) and his grandchildren Skyler Collins Bibb, Murray McNeel Bibb, Jr., Wyatt Peyton Bibb and Louise Goodwyn Bibb along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a visitation on Monday, August 17th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
