Phillip Royal Upchurch, at the age of 76, lost his courageous battle with cancer on September 11, 2022. He left behind his loving family - His wife of 37 years, Karen Upchurch; daughter Kimberly Payne and her husband Jerry, granddaughters Skye and Hazel. His son Blake Upchurch, wife Angie, and granddaughters Stella and Wrenleigh; his brother Robert Upchurch of Columbus, Georgia.
He was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, and graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Business. He started his career in medical sales and pharmaceuticals. He owned a medical supply store, a fishing/sporting store, then a pawn shop before he could start his real career: being known for his adventures of fishing, golfing, and spending time with family.
The celebration of his life will be remembered in a memorial service on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 5:30 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel 1800 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood, AL. 35209
