Randall Chang
August 27, 1952 – March 8, 2023

Randall Wa Chang of Homewood, Alabama passed away peacefully on March 8, 2023 from complications with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dana Wagner Chang and beloved children William Lee Chang (Julia Cathcart) and Allison Chang-Roberts (Noel Chang-Roberts).
He was born in Honolulu, HI, and his parents who predeceased him were William and Helen Lee Chang. His surviving sibling is Frederick O. Chang (Pida Chang) of Honolulu, Hi.
Randall attended Marquette University, the University of Alabama in Birmingham and later the University of Nebraska. He was trained by John W. Kirklin. MD and Albert D. Pacifico, MD. That training served him well as a Physician Assistant in Surgery in Danville, PA, Richmond, VA, Champaign, IL, Birmingham, AL, Sioux City, IA and lastly in Gulfport, MS. He retired from practice at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS in December of 2021
Randall was his happiest performing cardiac surgery. He dearly loved his work and the teams he worked alongside. He found great fulfillment in teaching surgical techniques to students, interns, residents and anyone wanting to learn from his vast knowledge of surgery.
A memorial service will be held in June with a reception to follow.
