Rebecca Gaye Tamucci passed away peacefully with her two sons by her side on January 11 at 73 years of age after a challenging battle with dementia. Gaye was born on September 9, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama where she lived her entire life except for her final three years when she moved to Marietta, Georgia and Sunrise at East Cobb Assisted Living. Gaye had a gentle soul and dedicated her life to her three children. She was a loving mother and kind friend to all those who she came in contact with. Gaye worked 30 years at what became Regions Bank and had been retired the past 13 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Israel Franklin Parker (Big D) and Mary Alice Parker (Meme). She is survived by her three children, Mike and Frank Tamucci and Helen Gorman, and her daughter-in-laws Jan and Ashley Tamucci. Gaye had seven grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Hannah and Griffin Tamucci from Marietta, Parker and Adam Tamucci from Mountain Brook, and Michelle Gorman from Mountain Brook. Gaye’s best friend her final years at Sunrise was her daughter-in-law Jan, who cared for and comforted her during her most difficult times. A family funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 15 at 2:00 at Elmwood Cemetery where Gaye will be laid to rest beside Big D and Meme. Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood will handle the arrangements
