Robert H. Ramsbacher

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Studdard Donaldson Ramsbacher, brothers Richard, John, Tom, Harold, Charlie, and Alfred Ramsbacher, and sisters Mary Reed, Marjorie Baumgartner, Julia Heikens, and Peggy Ramsbacher.

He is survived by sons Don Donaldson and Ron Ramsbacher (Valerie), grandchildren Katie and Reid Ramsbacher, sister-in-law Tallulah Studdard DeMarco, brother-in-law Hoyt Studdard (Margaret), and many nieces and nephews.

A member of the Greatest Generation, Bob was born of modest beginnings, endured the Great Depression, and served in World War II, stationed in San Francisco and China. He found great joy as an aerial pilot and photographer and was known as a man of few words but quick wit. He and his wife Jackie were married for over 63 years.

“Daddy Bob” will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were lucky to have known him. His legacy of kindness and passion for his family life will live on through the lives he touched.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood, Alabama. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 in the chapel, and a graveside service for family members will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
