

He was born in Auburn, Alabama, on July 3, 1926.
He was a longtime member of Woodlawn Baptist Church (Berean class) and is a current member of The Church at Liberty Park.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Clifford and Patricia Wesson, brother Lowell B. Wesson, and grandson Scott Kuckens.
He is survived by the mother of his children Betty B. Wesson, daughter Linda (Ed) Kuckens, daughter Debbie (Billy) Griffin, son Jim (Monica) Wesson, and daughter Judy (David) Curry; grandchildren Dana (Brooks) Howle, Trey (Amanda) Griffin, Shauna Wesson, Jason Griffin, Taylor (Rachel) Wesson, Hayden (Tiffany) Curry; great-grandchildren Brae Howle, Caiden Howle, Landon Kuckens, Wyatt Wilson, Reese Kuckens, and Haddie Mac Wesson; and many lifelong friends.
He attended Holman Elementary, Woodlawn High School, and graduated from Howard College (Samford) with a Business Administration degree.
He enlisted in the US Navy in 1944 as an S 1/C, and served as a Motor Torpedo Sailor and a Crewman on the U.S.S. Canistro. He served in the Philippine Liberation, the Asiatic Pacific and the European Area. He was awarded the Victory Ribbon.
He worked as a Kendall Corporation Medical Sales Representative for 15 years and was the Distributor for Zimmer USA for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
Throughout his life he was involved in numerous interests including the Packard Club, bushogging at his farm, collecting antique automobiles, woodworking, traveling worldwide (including a passion for riding trains), and participating in patriotic activities such as the Veteran’s Day Parade with several of his Woodlawn High School friends.
He had a special penchant for dining out at Lloyd’s, Dale’s, and the Fish Market.
Visitation will be held at The Church at Liberty Park on Wednesday, May 29th, from 11AM to 1PM. Service will he held at the church at 1PM Wednesday followed by Interment at Ridouts Forest Crest Cemetery. There will be a reception at The Club immediately following the Interment.
