A Birmingham native, Buster was born on November 22, 1948. He attended Berry High School before continuing his education at Jacksonville State University.
After graduation, he joined his father, Tony Brandino, in the family business, Brandino Brass, located in Homewood.
Brandino Brass, founded by Tony in 1948 as a specialty hardware and cabinetry supply, became a cornerstone of the close-knit community. Buster spent his career working alongside his father and later, his son, Eric, ensuring the family-owned business thrived across generations. Today, Eric continues this legacy as the third generation to lead the company.
Buster was a devoted husband to his wife, Susie, and a loving father to his son, Eric (Sharon Bolt) and daughter Kate (the late Brian Davenport).
Additional survivors include two brothers-in-law, Les Tucker and Charles Passmore ( Gina Passmore).
He was predeceased by his parents, Tony and Marie Brandino, as well as his sister, Candy Tucker.
Buster placed a strong emphasis on friends and family, and is remembered as a good husband, father and friend. His warmth and dedication left an indelible mark on all who knew him, and he will be sorely missed.
Outside of work and family life, Buster found joy in, music, hiking, backpacking, and golf — activities that reflected his love for the outdoors and his adventurous spirit.
Buster’s memory will live on through the lives he touched and the legacy he built with his family and his business. May those who knew him find comfort in remembering the kindness and dedication he brought to every aspect of his life.
The family extends its gratitude to the caregiver company, Home Instead, and the hospice company, Southern Care New Beacon, for their compassionate care at the end of Buster’s life.
Services will be private for the family.
