Shannon Gallant Swindle

Shannon was born on June 21, 1969, in Birmingham, Alabama. She grew up in the Forestdale area and graduated from Minor High School in 1987. A lifelong member of the Birmingham community, Shannon was known for her strength, kindness, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends.

Shannon found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved camping, going to the beach, and most of all, spending cherished time with her grandbabies. Her warmth, caring spirit, and love for her family created lasting memories that will be treasured forever.

She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 38 years, Bryan Swindle; her son, Ethan Swindle (Maggie); grandson Osco Rushing; Daughter-in-law Laura Swindle; grandson Charles Swindle; granddaughter Mary Austin Swindle; her mother, Malvene Jackson (Jamie); her brother, Brad Gallant (Suzette); her sisters, LeighAnn Davidson (Chuck) and Susan Williams; and her brother, Jamie Jackson (Heather). She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kody Swindle; her brother, Chad Gallant; and her niece, Brittney Macon.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation and reception being held on Thursday, June 18th, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a breast cancer charity of your choice in Shannon’s memory.

Shannon will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
