Shelby and I attended Carraway Methodist Hospital School of Nursing together 1966-68. After graduation we attended UABSON 1968-70. We remained good friends until her death.
Memories include sharing nursing school and nursing career stories, planning and celebrating our 25 th anniversary of completing Carraway SON, and visiting our other dear friend, Dale Moore who died an untimely death with cancer. We often compared growth and development and funny stories of our children.
We would go months without chatting but she would always call me on my birthday, Feb 1, then I would turn around and call her on her birthday, Feb 3.
We talked about her ALS diagnosis and she and Bob and Paul and I were able to cruise the British Isles in May 2019. I will miss her. I am grateful for her honesty, assertiveness, unique personality and our long friendship.

Shelby and Bob were our neighbors from 1983 until 2019. Even though we no longer live in Homewood, Fred and I will miss her as the kind neighbor she was. She will not be forgotten.

I worked with Shelby as a member of the Lily of the Cahaba chapter of the DAR. She was so knowledgeable and helpful. I will miss her smiling face and and willingness to help ladies join the chapter.
My deepest condolences to her family.

I met Shelby when she joined the Lily of the Cahaba DAR chapter. She was such a sweet and caring person and I always enjoyed being around her. Her love for family and genealogy was something we both had in common. She was a wonderful person and friend. I am truly saddened by her passing. I will be praying for Bob, Chad and Caroline and the rest of her family. Farewell my sweet friend.
