Stephen Joseph Colpack, II

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee and then moving to Bessemer, Alabama, he attended St. Aloysius Grade Schhol and was a graduate of Jess Lanier High School. His Catholic faith was a quiet, but important part of his life, especially in the last few years. St. Francis of Assisi was an important figure for Stephen, as his love for pets was a huge part of his life.

He was a devoted Alabama and Coach Saban fan, proudly cheering them on each week.

Stephen has been called the glue of his family, always the peacemaker, always the one to make us laugh in the hard moments. He was incredibly proud of his two daughters, Madeleine Bell-Colpack (Austin) and Elliot Colpack. He dearly loved his wife, Leah, and the family is so grateful for her adoration and caretaking.

He was a new and proud grandfather to Stephen Bailey Bell-Colpack. And if you knew Stephen, you surely knew about his pets, Annie, and his beloved rescue, Ryder. Ryder was always by his side, even at the end.

He was an incredible artist, but never would take credit. His family & friends feel incredibly lucky to have his artwork to cherish & remember him by.

Stephen will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, overwhelming love and loyalty, bright hope, emotional vulnerability, and ultimately his kindness. He was the best parts of all of his family.

Friends are cordially invited to the visitation being held on Monday, September 28th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church located at 110 West Hawthorne Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209. Funeral Services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. and burial will be held privately for the family.

Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
