Sterling William Edwards

Sterling WIlliam Edwards of Mountain Brook passed away on Tuesday, Aug 11. Sterling was born October 5, 1963 in Mountain Brook, Alabama. He attended Mountain Brook High School and graduated from Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sterling was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in business in 1986. While attending Alabama, Sterling was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After college, Sterling pursued a career in commercial real estate, most recently at LAH real estate. Sterling was an active member at the Church of the Highlands. He was a member of the Country Club of Birmingham and the Birmingham Quarterback Club. He enjoyed his weekly runs with the Track Shack running club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved Alabama football. Sterling was a well loved man and had many friends. He is survived by: his daughter, Baylee Edwards; his son, Sterling W. Edwards, Jr.; his father, Leon W. Edwards; his mother, Caroline Coleman Stautberg; his brother, Leon (Lee) W. Edwards, Jr. (Jenny); and his sister, Caroline E. Sims (George).

Visitation will take place Thursday, Aug. 13 from 5-7pm at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood, and a memorial service will be held at the Church of the Highlands Chapel on Friday, August 14 at 11:00 am.
