
Sue Hill Merrin, born the daughter of Herbert William Hill and Laura Johnson Hill of Hueytown, Alabama. Her family moved from Hueytown to Oak Park, IL in 1949. She earned an Associate Degree at Stephens College in Columbia, MO in 1962 and later moved to Birmingham to work for Delta Airlines. She spent the rest of her career as a travel agent for All Seasons Travel. Mrs. Merrin enjoyed traveling around the world with her loving husband, Warren. She was a creative and talented artist and enjoyed painting scenery for elementary school plays. She was in high demand for designing haunted houses for different local elementary schools. She would hold ceramics class weekly in her garage. She was an animal lover and an avid hunter of shark’s teeth. She had a strong passion for cooking and entertaining for those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Gray Merrin, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Laura and Spencer Randle of Vestavia, grandson, Will Randle, stepson, Richard Christenbury and his wife and daughter, Belinda and Breann of Birmingham, and stepdaughter, Evelyn Merrin of Las Vegas, NV.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Valley Chapel at 1800 Oxmoor Road in Homewood Tuesday, December 20th from 11:00 to 1:00. There will be a private graveside service following.
