Teleete was born in Gary, Indiana, and lived in Hagerstown, Maryland, and Atlanta, Georgia, before her family settled down in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Sacred Heart in Cullman in 1950 and attended Auburn University in 1951. She enjoyed her work in the lab at University Hospital. In 1952 she met her husband, Edwin John Staub, Jr. and they married in 1954 at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Birmingham. They were married for 21 years before his death in 1975.
Teleete was an only child and a loving caregiver of both her parents, William Edward Frawley and Vera Huie Frawley.
She enjoyed volunteering as a patient representative at St. Vincent’s Hospital in younger years. She loved her family, her neighbors, her bridge partners, her “Dollie” friends, and her dogs.
She will be greatly missed by her friends and remaining family, her 3 sons and their children: Eddie Staub, wife Kayanne, and children, Kaylin (and husband Garrett Durham), Daniel, Nathan, Anna, and Joseph Staub, Billy Staub, wife Dyan, and children Tyler (and wife Allison), Shelby (and fiance John Waid and great grandchild Jolene), Abbey, and Regan Staub, and Bobby Staub and wife Laura.
We are grateful for her kind Brookdale and hospice caregivers.
Visitation is Thursday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. The burial will be private for the family and officiated by Reverend Thomas Kelly of St. Peter’s the Apostle Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent in her memory to either the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, 300 Snow Drive, Birmingham, AL 35209 or to Eagle Ranch, (a children’s home in Georgia founded by her son). You may give online at eagleranch.org or mail to Eagle Ranch, P. O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502.
