MALONE, TRUMAN H., aged 93, passed away in Birmingham on March 23,2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Jean Bowen Malone, daughters Linda, Lisa and Nancy Malone, all of Birmingham, and daughters-in-love, Jane McKenzie and Beth Curry. Also surviving are a sister-in-law (Jane Malone) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester D. Malone and Roxie Anna Malone, brothers James (Imogene), Ray (Agnes), Durward and a sister, Fayana Caddell (RP). Mr. Malone was born in Greensboro, Alabama, and later moved to Northport, Alabama, where he attended elementary school and Tuscaloosa County High School. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving 18 months in Europe. A graduate of the University of Alabama and a member of the Million Dollar Band, Mr. Malone was a lifelong follower of the Crimson Tide. He also attended the Birmingham School of Law where he graduated after four years of night study. After passing the State Bar exam, he was qualified to practice law in Alabama in addition to continuing his employment with U.S. Steel. He retired from U.S. Steel in 1983 after 33 years of employment in the Personnel Department. He had been a resident of Birmingham since 1952, having lived in the Altadena area since 1972. He was a faithful member of Birmingham's First United Methodist Church, where he served as past Chairman of the Administrative Board, member and past President of the Supper Club, member of the Wesley Sunday School Class and former member of the church choir. His special interests included his church activities, his family, Alabama football, traveling, and musical and theater events in Birmingham. He was a beloved husband and father, as well as a faithful friend to many. Private burial was held at Elmwood Cemetery. A celebration of Truman's life will be held at Birmingham's First United Methodist Church on Wednesday March 28th , 2018 at 1:00pm, with visitation at 11:45am. Officiating minister will be Rev.
