Valerie Sanderson

Valerie Sanders Sanderson, 65, of Pelham, Alabama, entered eternal rest on February 10, 2026. Born July 14, 1960, she built her life around family, music, and life's simple joys, such as the sound of waves while reading a good book.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Sanderson; her daughter, Autumn Taylor Sanderson; her son and daughter-in-law, John and Maggie Sanderson; and her beloved grandchildren, Killian, Declan, and Winifred. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Harthel Sanders, and her lifelong friend, Sandra Taylor.

Valerie loved music, especially Miranda Lambert and Jimmy Buffett, and proudly called herself a Parrot Head. She enjoyed Alabama football, beach days, margaritas with friends, and cooking with her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local Humane Society in her memory. She will be deeply missed.

A visitation with a memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel located at 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209.
