PAUGH, VIRGINIA TURNER PAUGH, VIRGINIA TURNER, 86 of Vestavia Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 28, 2012 at home among family and caregivers. She was born in Heflin, Alabama on August 1, 1926 and was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Alf Turner; her husband of 63 years, Clarence O. Paugh, and daughter, Paige Day Paugh. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Paugh Romano of Birmingham; sons, Brent H. Paugh of Atlanta, Ga., Dean M. Paugh of Birmingham; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Virginia met her husband of 63 years while attending her beloved University of Alabama, where she received her teaching degree. She taught for many years at Pizitz Middle School in Vestavia and frequently enjoyed running into former students while out and about. She was a faithful member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church for years, maintaining a close relationship with many fellow members. She was a woman well-known to care about others first with an overwhelming love for her family and friends. Virginia will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all. Special appreciation to Lottie Pippens for her long-term friendship and care of the family. And to Hope Hospice, Inc. and Homewatch Caregivers who were so helpful and caring in her final days. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Ridout's Valley Chapel. Funeral service will be a 1:00 p.m., followed by a private burial.
