Virginia M. Stewart

Virginia M. Stewart, 94, Birmingham, AL died peacefully on April 13, 2016. She was the youngest child of Amos and Carl Metcalf of Enterprise, AL. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul H. Stewart of Montgomery, AL and all of her six siblings.

Virginia received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Auburn University. During her distinguished career she worked as an Administrative Dietician at Louisville General Hospital in Louisville, KY. She and Paul settled in Montgomery, AL where she was a teacher and Chair of the Home Economics Department of Huntington College.

A resident of Birmingham, AL since May of 1999, Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church of Birmingham. She enjoyed traveling the world over with her family and friends including expeditions to the North and South Poles.

Virginia's immediate survivors include her son, Walter H. Stewart and daughter-in-law, Audrey.

A memorial service will be held in the Gazebo room of Brookdale University Park, 400 University Park Drive, Homewood, AL on Friday April 15 at 11:30 a.m.
