

LaRussa, Vivian Mary Gagliano, age 97 of Hoover, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Vivian was born September 29, 1914, in Birmingham, Al. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Carmen LaRussa; her parents, Antonio Gagliano and Cologera Sicola Gagliano; her brothers, Joe, Roy and Paul Gagliano; her sisters, Frances Sciola and Josephine Gagliano. Survivors: sons, Benny M. LaRussa (Anne), Joseph A. LaRussa (Sue), Michael C. LaRussa (Constance); daughter, Patsy L. Gray (Wester); grandchildren, Benny M. LaRussa Jr. (Lynn), Karen L. Persinger (Steve), Dr Joseph B. LaRussa (Cornelia), John G. LaRussa (Mary Carson), Marian L. Phillips (Steve), David K. LaRussa (Mary Lyn), Michelle L. Box (Shawn), David M. LaRussa (Maranda), Jennifer L. LaRussa, Steven A. Gray (Mellany), Kevin M. Gray (Blake), Dr Michael C. LaRussa III (Jessica). Vivian was lovingly called MaMaw by her 12 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Saint Ann’s Guild which provided hand made Baptismal bibs for infants, the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 635, the Maria Theresa Lodge 1515 and the Consolata Sisters Catholic Center of Concern. She was a fine Christian lady that was always doing for others and a fun person who enjoyed playing bingo and card games with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, at 9:00 a.m.at Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to LaKesha Thompkins of Helping Hand Services for her loving care to MaMaw.
