William "Bill" Bullock Jr.

William E. “Bill” Bullock, Jr. passed away on Sunday, August 28th. Born April 26th, 1949, he had many fond memories and funny stories of running around with his friends from Old English Circle and Shades Cahaba Elementary. In spite of similar shenanigans, he graduated from Baylor Military School in 1967.

At Auburn University, he joined the Tigers swim team and ATO, forming life-long friendships. He graduated in 1971 and began working with his father, Bill Sr., and his cousin, Buck Barnhart, at WJ Bullock, Inc. He eventually became President of the company.

In 1975, he married Cam McCurry, whom he loved deeply his whole life, and she loved him just as much until her death in 2012. Bill was a beloved father to Katharine (Kate) and Margaret (Meg) Bullock. The entire Bullock family were members of Canterbury UMC and joined in productions of the Canterbury Players for many years beginning in 1991.

An avid golfer for much of his adult life, Bill very much enjoyed his Sunday mornings with his buddies at Vestavia Country Club. Often described as the life of a party, his good humor and playful spirit will be sorely missed.

In addition to his daughters, Bill is survived by his sister, Ann Wilson, cousin, Buck Barnhart, niece Lucy Wilson, and nephews Brent Wilson and Patrick McCurry.

Visitation will be held at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, September 6th, at Ridout's Valley on Oxmoor Road, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 pm. The graveside service will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta, at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, September 6th.
