On March 1, 2021 our fine son William Ronald Mims, Jr., better known as Ronnie, age 38 went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Ronnie was born August 6, 1982. As the only child of Ron and Cindy Mims, Ronnie was a joy and delight to his mom and dad. Ronnie had a wonderful time as a young boy doing all the things that young boys do and enjoy. At an early age one could tell that Ronnie was a very good athlete who as he got older focused his athletic attention to tennis. While in high school Ronnie excelled at tennis to the point he was a top ranked player and received several offers for college. After high school Ronnie moved on and joined the U. S. Air Force were he was quickly recognized for his talents and moved up the ranks quickly to Staff Sargent before Honorably leaving the service. Though Ronnie received many awards and commendations his most memorable assignment was to be one of three airman to be picked from his base in Little Rock Arkansas to go to New Orleans to serve Air Force One assignment for a Presidential event in New Orleans. His tour of duty included stays in Germany, Turkey, and other. What a beautiful soul Ronnie was. No kind gesture was lost on him. No compliment, statement or act of reassurance, or show of support was unnoticed. He was so eager an open to accept love from others. Ronnie is preceded in death my his grand-parents Eddie and Dottie Files, and Lee Roy and Esther Mims, and beloved uncle Roy Mims. Ronnie is loved by many uncles , aunts, and cousins. Due to Covid and other there will be a private family viewing after which cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers Cindy and I have established the Ron and Cindy Mims Endowment Scholarship in Memory of Ronnie Mims at Samford University. We are very, very sad and will miss our son Ronnie Mims. God Bless...
