William Cooper Smith, Jr., age 71, passed away on July 31, 2018. He is survived by his wife, of 21 years, Deborah Jean Smith; son, William Myer Smith and mother in law, Constance Cadwallader: sisters, Rosemary Jager (Charles) and Jobeth Hurt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; James Hurt, Susan Bedsole, Joanna McCall, Merrilynn Wright, Steve Jager, Leighann Albright and James Jager. He was preceded in death by his parents; William Cooper and Sara Elizabeth Smith. He attended Bessemer High School and Jacksonville State University. He was owner of Reserve Coke and Chemical, Inc. and Industrial Carbon Services, Inc. He loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. He loved his friends. He was a member of Christ the King Anglican Church. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018, 10-11 at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 3207 Montevallo Rd, Mountain Brook, Al 35223.. A funeral service will follow at 11.
