Adrian S Phaneuf (Andy), 89, passed away November 26th, 2022, in Brooksville, Florida. Andy was born in Woodstock, Connecticut, to the late Adrian Sylvanus Phaneuf and Alice Yvonne Phaneuf (nee Cournoyer) on May 29th, 1933.
In 1957 he met his future wife Madeleine S Phaneuf (nee Lachance) and they were married on August 30th, 1958. They had three children: Donald A Phaneuf, 1959, Robert N Phaneuf, 1961, and Michelle M Perata (husband Ron), 1964.
Andy was a graduate of Pleasantville High School in New York in 1951. He earned his Bachelors Degree at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, in 1955, where he also completed ROTC and upon graduation entered the US Army as a 2nd Lieutenant of artillery. He ended his active service in 1957 and went to work at Eastern States Farmers Exchange in Waltham, Massachusetts. In 1969 he joined Merck & Co. in the area of veterinarian pharmaceuticals. From 1980 to 1987 he worked at Syntex Corp. in Palo Alto, California as Vice President of International Marketing in animal health. He then indulged one of his dreams, opening Farnworth’s Gifts and Cards store in Los Gatos, California.
In 1990 Andy and Maddy moved to Homosassa, Florida, and enjoyed many years of US and international travel. Retirement, however, was short-lived as Andy joined his friends and fellow investors at Sweetwater Homes of Citrus County.
Andy is survived by his wife Maddy, his three children, his five grandchildren Melissa Glass, John Phaneuf, Brianna Langdon, David Perata and Gino Perata, and his eight great grandchildren.
A celebration of Andy’s life will be held at Wilders Funeral Home 4-6PM Thursday, December 1, 2022, along with light refreshments. A mass will be held in his honor at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Lecanto on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10AM, reception to follow at Sugarmill Woods Country Club.
