
Amelia J. (Amy) Chancey passed away Saturday the 26th of March, 2022, at AccentCare Mease Manor in Dunedin, FL. , she was 67 years old. She was born at Mound Park Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL the daughter of David R. and B. Joy Chancey A 1972 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg she had resided in Citrus County continuously since 1972. Amy worked as a Ward Clerk at Citrus Memorial Hospital for a number of years and then became a Post Master Relief (PMR) for the United States Postal Service. A job she worked at until her retirement. Amy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES) and was a perpetual member of Dunnellon Chapter #235 now consolidated with Inverness Chapter #65. Amy loved the Order, the people she knew there, and the loving kindness and Charity the Order embodies. Of all the officer stations she filled, her favorite was Conductress. Amy leaves behind two brothers, Dale and his wife, Ched, of Ponce de Leon, FL, and James and his wife, Melissa, of Bennington, VT and Crystal River, FL. She also leaves behind her beloved niece and nephew as well as several cousins. Amy was a lifetime lover of animals and leaves behind her beloved cat, Sean Patrick. She was predeceased by her parents and an older brother, Philip. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her name to Alley Cat Allies: Advocacy for Pet, Stray, Feral and Community Cats.
