Amy Grace Humphries, 53, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tues., Aug. 2, 2022 at her home. A native of Jacksonville, FL, Amy was born Jan. 27, 1969 to Robert and Joyce (Young) Humphries, one of three children. Amy was awarded an academic and basketball scholarship to the University of Evansville, Evansville, IN where she graduated top of her class earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Amy was an Academic All American and ranked nationally in three point shooting percentages. She provided physical therapy with several organizations during her professional career, especially in the area of elder care. She transformed the lives of hundreds of patients through her dedication and loving spirit. Amy was like another mother to her nephew, Jackson, and willingly rode every amusement park ride with him over and over on family vacations. Amy was an avid sports fan and followed the University of North Carolina Tar Heels and faithfully enjoyed March Madness each year. She was also a devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tampa Bay Rays fan. Amy is survived by her beloved spouse of 6 years, Betty Jones of Homosassa, FL; Betty’s daughter Jessica Short of New Port Richey, FL; parents Bob and Joyce Humphries of N.
