Barbara Ann Cheeks

Barbara Ann Cheeks, 83, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026 at her home. A native of Baltimore, MD, she was born Aug. 11, 1943 to Walter and Pauline (Forney) Reaver, one of three children. A lifelong homemaker who loved kids, Barbara and her late husband Ronald were loving foster parents to a number of children in need earlier in life. Barbara moved to Homosassa in March of 2026 from Westminster, MD, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan, faithfully following their games often. Her perfect day would be marked by spending her time with her loving family and her loving dogs. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, Ronald Cheeks, she was preceded in death by grandchildren William Cheeks and Taylor Shorb, as well as her brothers Walter and Raymond Reaver. Barbara is survived by her children: Leah Potts, Homosassa, FL; Harold Cheeks (wife Kelly), Westminster, MD; Serena McDougal, also of Westminster, MD and William Luther (wife Bobby Jo), Dillsburg, PA; grandchildren Ronald Cheeks, Littlestown, PA; Elizabeth Potts (Michael), Hanover, PA; Joseph Cheeks (Taylor), McSherrystown, PA; Cole Cheeks (Elizabeth), Westminster, MD and Mark Blizzard, Finksburg, MD; great grandchildren Ahnika and Nicholas Shorb, both of Dover, PA; Aubrey Russ, Hanover, PA and Elijah Cheeks, McSherrystown, PA; sisters-in-law Sharon Lentzner (husband David), Littlestown, PA; Margaret Owings, New Windsor, MD; Wanda Edwards, Gamber, MD and Janet Norris (husband Wilson), Oakland, MD as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
