Berle Doreen Clare Johnson

Berle Doreen Clare Johnson, 93 of Homosassa FL, passed away Feb. 5, 2015. Born in England, she was a toddler when her family brought her to the United States. She was the oldest child in her family and outlived her four siblings. Mrs. Johnson was married to the late Raymond G. Johnson and after his retirement in Michigan, they gradually migrated to Florida for permanent residence.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson had four children: Robert (Patricia) of Rochester Hills MI, Roger (Julie) of Pine Ridge FL, Glen (Carol) of Dunnellon FL, and the late infant Lynne Elizabeth. Mrs. Johnson is survived by three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was a wonderful mother who readily volunteered her time for Boy Scouts, church and charitable community activities. She enjoyed staying connected with relatives in England and Canada, and right up to the end she was sharing emails with family. She used her financial and accounting background in supporting the family with part-time work and in managing family affairs. A visit by her dear sisters-in-law Dorothy (Johnson) Frutig and Viola (Johnson-Baker) Krawchuck, days prior to her death, brought her joy and contentment which extended into the wonderful care by Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast at home, and the eventual release to the waiting arms of the Lord.

The family is planning a private celebration of her life with eventual inurnment in Michigan.
