Dearest Florida Cousins...
I follow my sisters, Marcia and Norma, in celebrating my connection with A. Betty. 

For me, the memories of our childhood summer vacations have always been treasured. Those fun adventures A. Betty created together with U. Ray to entertain us all made our visits unique. These were the most special of times with our mom's brothers family.

A. Betty is finally reunited once again with U. Ray.

I am grateful to have reconnected with you and U. Ray when my life suddenly changed, finding this western states girl back in Florida! I cannot begin to describe how important it was to see you two again after so many years.  At the time I thought our reunion was important because of my sweet Mom, her Florida roots, and this California girl's many childhood memories of summers spent in Florida.  However, that visit in 2010 became so much more than that for me.  Your enthusiasm for life, high energy and wise counsel found me wanting more precious time with you and Uncle Ray.   I want you to know how grateful I am that Tim was able to meet you both.  He saw immediately the young spirits that you are.  We wanted more of you.  Sadly, it wasn't to be. 

You have missed and grieved the loss of your life-long partner, you belong together and, now you are.  You have given so much to so many, and I count myself as one very grateful niece to have had you in my life. I will miss you greatly, Aunt Betty, and when thoughts of you remind me of my loss, I will hear your laughter, and I will smile,,,,remembering.

Aunt Betty and Uncle Ray were the happiest people I ever knew and I know they are happy to be together again. She opened her arms and her heart to everyone and truly understood how to enjoy and live life to its fullest. I cherish the memories I have and I am blessed and honored to have you as my aunt.
I remember sitting with you and my dad talking about being the only two left and you telling him you would let him win the race.
You will be missed by so many. Rest in peace Aunt Betty, you won the race.

Thinking of you Ms. Betty aka Zookeeper….and what a Zoo you had to keep! We're not sure where to being with all of our favorite memories together but know we have lots of amazing stories. Dave and I never imagined that meeting Papa Ray and Ms. Betty 30+ years ago would bring such fun-times into our lives in the land of Misfit. MANY, MANY, MANY outings….fountain of youth initiations, swimming, Easter egg hunts, scalloping, scallop cleaning, Lu-outs, boating, fishing, RV camping, bonfire talks, yummy foods, many cocktail hours, holiday celebrations, NC mountain trips, gator hunting or was it spider (LOL), shopping, family, friends and kids all running around finding lots of outdoor fun, dancing, storytelling, tears, laughs, costumes, rainstorms, girly and manly projects, lots of photos, poker runs, fireworks….but most of all friendships and lots of love!!!! Dave and I will always appreciate Papa Ray and Ms. Betty for opening their home to us and showing such heartfelt hospitality to us both. Ms. Betty and Papa Ray you will always have a special place in our hearts! You will be missed, love you much Lori aka Ginny's Friennnnnnnnnnd and Dave aka Spider Man

Dear Charlene, Wayne, Ginny and Carol…

Remembering your mom, I automatically include your dad because of their lifelong connection.  They complimented each other, they belong together and now they are together…as it should be.

My memories of A. Betty and U. Ray are fond and many…is it really 50 years ago that my sisters and I spent summers with our cousins in Tampa?  They were our away-from-home parents effortlessly filling the void by orchestrating activities from water skiing, pig roasts, birthday parties, horseback rides, meals and family gatherings.  A. Betty was full of ideas, energy and the ultimate peacemaker.  I loved those summers…they would not have been the same without her.  Decades later, when they visited in Idaho, A. Betty was still a live wire, fun-loving and  adventurous - always finding humor on the journey.  I'm smiling as I think of her now.

My parents loved your parents…their giggles and laughter were contagious as they described yet another funny episode together.  What I wouldn't give to hear them tell just one more story.  Their special bond lives on in all of us.

May your memories bring you comfort.So glad for the few days I spend with Betty and Ray a few years back after losing touch with them in all the years after my mom which was her sister passed away.

Betty and Ray were 2 of my favorite cousins.  They were upbeat, and positive.  You could tell by their countenance that their mission in life was to bless people.  My sympathy in loss goes out the the family.

R.I.P Aunt Betty..  love you dearly..you will be missed..I can't thank you enough for all you have done for us over the years..I will cheer on the Noles for you..give everyone a hug when you get to Heaven....
