Charles Curt Bonnell

Charles Curt Bonnell, 86, of Crystal River, FL, passed away on Sat., April 1, 2023 at HPH Hospice Citrus Care Center in Lecanto, FL. A native of Fairhope, AL, he was born Sept. 18, 1936 to Paul and Ellen (Anacker) Bonnell, one of four children. Charles served his country honorably and proudly in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1959. Airman Second Class Bonnell served at bases in Kyllburg, Germany; Bitburg, Germany and Rabat, Morocco. While stationed in Bitburg, Charles was assigned to Tactical Missile Group Squadron, 7221st Airbase, home of the Matador Missiles, maintaining ground communications equipment in their radio towers. Mr. Bonnell was a retired finance office manager for Ford Motor Credit and moved to Crystal River in July of 2019 from Summerdale, Alabama. Prior to his retirement to Summerdale, Charles and Glenda were residents of Huntsville, AL for 20 years. Mr. Bonnell held memberships in both Freedom Church in Fairhope, AL and Free Chapel in Gainesville, GA. Charles, with his wife Glenda, loved to travel in their motor home and he also enjoyed camping and boating. He loved to be outdoors enjoying nature with his faithful and loving dog Dakota by his side. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law; John Tarn, David Bishop and Adrian Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Glenda J. Bonnell of Crystal River, FL; daughters Wendy Edwards (Joe) of Waynesville, NC and Dawn Reed (Gwen) of Huntsville, AL; son Brian Louden of Largo, FL; sisters Marjorie Tarn of Dobson, NC; Carol Bishop and Linda Johnson, both of Fairhope, AL; grandchildren Blake Bohannon (Elizabeth) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; Brandi Bohannon of Washington, DC and Brent Louden (Alyssa) of Seminole, FL; great grandchildren Henry Bohannon, Carsen Louden and D.J. Louden and his loving dog Dakota. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Sat., May 13, 2023 at Charles and Glenda's home with Military Honors being rendered at 3:00 P.M. by the United States Air Force.
