

Dolores Mae “Dee” Zill Gannon, 96, of Homosassa, FL, passed away Monday, June 29, 2026 at The Royal Dalton House in Homosassa. A native of Warren, Ohio, she was born June 17, 1930, the only child to to Peter and Josephine (Vennetti) Rufo. Dee, as she was known to many, moved to the Sugarmill Woods area of Homosassa in 1998, having relocated from New Port Richey, FL, and moved from Niles, OH prior to that time. As a devout Roman Catholic by faith, Dolores was a former parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa. Dee loved to paint and tend to her garden and enjoyed birdwatching in her back yard and especially loved it when the cardinals came to visit her. Her perfect day would begin with coffee and a biscotti, followed by time tending to her garden, as she enjoyed being among nature and wildlife. In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her first husband Anthony Zill, Jr.; second husband Joseph Gannon; daughter Tiona Kline and son Gary Zill. She is survived by daughter Linda Zill, Julian, CA; daughter-in-law Mary-Ellen Zill, Girard, OH and son-in-law Kris Kline, Pawnee, OK; granddaughter Heather Kline-Fischer (husband James Fischer, Jr.), Homosassa, FL and grandson Matthew Kline (wife Sydney Konuch-Kline), Orlando, FL, as well as great grandchild Sydney Bunts, Homosassa, FL. and numerous family members from the Joseph Gannon side of her large family. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 9, 2026 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 South Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, FL, where a Celebration of Life will commence at 11:00 A.M. with Deacon Mark Manko officiating. A private entombment at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens in New Port Richey will take place at 3:00 P.M. for immediate family members only.
