Donna Carol Painter, 64, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Sat., Oct. 30, 2021 at Vitas Healthcare in Lecanto, Florida. A native of Gainesville, Georgia, she was born May 3, 1957 to the late Charles Franklin and the late Dorothy Mae (Ryder) Sayne, one of four children. Carol, as she was known to everyone, earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Middle Georgia Tech and was a retired executive secretary for Intrusol Corporation of Perry, Georgia. Carol moved to Homosassa 1 and 1/2 years ago from Alto, Georgia with her beloved husband, Gary B. Painter, with whom she shared 42 years. Mrs. Painter enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and just enjoyed being a Mom. Her perfect day would be centered around going out to eat breakfast, taking in some sight seeing and shopping, then ending the day with a home cooked meal made by Gary and perhaps a movie with her family. In addition to her husband Gary B. Painter of Homosassa, Carol is survived by her children Brandi Tressler (husband David) of Byron, Georgia and Dominick Painter of Homosassa, Florida and her siblings Ronnie Sayne (wife Michelle) of Alto, Georgia; Ricky Sayne (wife Cathy) of Gillsville, Georgia and Patricia Dubnik of Alto, Georgia. Friends will be received at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida on Wed., Nov. 10, 2021 from 9:00 - 10:30 A.M., where a funeral service of remembrance will take place at 10:30 A.M.
