Elaine Theresa Kent

Elaine Theresa Kent was born December 1, 1929, in Keene, NH and died January 7, 2025 in Inverness, Florida from natural causes. Elaine grew up with her parents, Carl and Ruth Thomsen, 2 brothers, Loyd and Andy Thomsen and 2 sisters, Shirley Carroll and Jean Watts. In 1945 Elaine met Harry S. Kent Jr. after returning home from serving in the Army. The two were married on June 14, 1946, and over the years had 3 sons, Phillip “Chubby”, Wesley and Larry. Over the years camping became their passion along with motorcycle riding, snowmobiling and boating. In 1986 Harry and Elaine retired and moved to Inverness, Florida and joined Elaine’s sister Shirley and brother Loyd. They’d return to NH with their camper for many more summers, then return to Florida for the winter months where they’d spend their winters visiting local attractions and flea markets Elaine was predeceased by her husband, Harry Kent in 2014 (89), her sons Wesley in 2006 (54) and Phillip in 2023 (75). Elaine is survived by her son Larry (70), daughter in-laws Virginia "Ginni" Kent of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Debbie Kent of Salem, MA and Anne Kent of Ocala, Fl., close family friend Karen Cota, 2 Sisters, Shirley Carroll and Jean Watts and eight grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Macrini-Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa, Florida with Deacon Mark Manko officiating. In lieu of flowers, Elaine’s family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice that you feel strongly about.
