Elizabeth G. “Libby” Ballard, 81, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Tues., Feb. 2, 2021 at Bayfront Health Seven Rivers in Crystal River, FL. A native of Pinson, Alabama, she was born July 25, 1939 to Robert and Mildred (Pollard) Green, one of four children. Libby, as she was known to many, moved to Florida from her native Alabama as a senior in high school. She lived in Plant City, FL for 35 years; moved to Inverness, FL in 1998 and then settled to her home in Homosassa in 2004 with her beloved husband of nearly 58 years, Dale Ballard, of Homosassa, who survives her. Mrs. Ballard was a professional hairdresser and was the former owner and operator of The Cut and Curl in Plant City. Libby was a faithful and devoted member of the Homosassa Church of God and in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Fay Pool and a grandson, Brett Ballard. In addition to her husband Dale, she is survived by her son Michael John Ballard, Plant City, FL; siblings Roger Green and Danny Downs, both of Plant City, FL; granddaughters Kaylee and Kirsten Ballard, both of Plant City, FL and great grandchildren Roman, Noah, Sophie and Julian. Friends will be received on Mon., Feb. 8, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL, where a funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon.
