Ellis C. Moore, 78, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida. A native of Dane, West Virginia, he was born in 1939 to the late William and Clara (Evans) Moore, one of six sons. Ellis served his country honorably in the United States Army for nearly six years. He married the former Gail Edwards of Lake Milton, Ohio on March 15, 1959, with whom he fell in love at the age of twelve. Mr. Moore enjoyed a long 23 year career as a maintenance machine repair technician for Ametek Lamb Electric of Kent, Ohio. Ellis will always be remembered for his desire and willingness to help others, as well as his intelligence. He was a gifted archer and impeccable chess player who also loved the game of golf. Ellis was an avid sports fan and followed faithfully the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns, as well as the West Virginia Mountaineers. Mr. Moore also was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing. Ellis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gail Moore; sons William Moore (wife Evelyn), Curtis Moore (wife Donna) and Richard Moore (wife Susan) ; daughter Deborah Fender (husband Dean); brothers Oliver, Lester, Charles, Robert and Larry Moore; grandchildren Lisa (husband Tim), Eric, Matthew (wife Tonya), Jessica, Reese, Beam, and Opp and great grandchildren Katelyn, Jacob, Alex and Alana. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. from the Homosassa Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1175 S. Skyway Ave., Homosassa, Florida 34448 and will be streamed live to Newton Falls, Ohio Congregation; Summersville, West Virginia Congregation and the Youngstown (West), Ohio Congregation.
