

Elza Lee Boydstun, 80 of Lecanto, FL died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at Hospice House in Lecanto. He was born July 10th, 1931 in Holdenville, OK and moved to this area in 1969 from Farmington, NM. Lee received his Bachelor’s degree from East Central State College in Ada, OK and Master’s degree in education from Stetson University in Deland, FL. Lee retired from Lecanto Middle School and was a former teacher and assistant football coach for Inverness Middle School. Before his career in education he was an oil field engineer. Member of Faith Baptist Church of Homosassa, Army veteran of Korea, enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elza T. and Ethel A. (Sullivan) Boydstun; daughter-in-law Anne Boydstun and brother Bobby.
Survived by his wife Norma Jean “Jeanne” Boydstun of Lecanto; sons Danny and wife Noelle Boydstun of Inverness, Ken Boydstun of Freeport, FL and David Boydstun of Gainesville; grandsons Andrew and Stephen, granddaughters Erin and Merry and seven great-grandchildren; step-daughter Jean Jones and husband Robert of Teays Valley, WV, their 2 daughters Joy Jenkins, husband John and seven month old twins, Shepherd and Samuel of Charleston, WV and Jill Jones of Martinsburg, WV, step-daughter Fran McCalla and husband Lee of Lecanto and their son Rodney Bloomer and grandson Justin Bloomer of Citrus County; brothers John Boydstun of Tucson, AR and Jim Boydstun of Texas; sister Darlene Barbar of Tulsa, OK
A celebration of Lee’s life will be held 11 am, Sat., Jan. 7, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church, 6918 S. Spartan Ave., Homosassa. Donations in memory of Lee may be given to Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
