Erin Elizabeth Cain Prost, 42, of Homosassa, FL, was murdered on Sat., Feb. 17, 2018 at her home. A native of Worcester, MA, she was born April 13, 1975 to John and Gail (Boyer) Cain, one of three children. Erin grew up in Warwick Rhode Island, graduated from Rhode Island College and moved to Homosassa eleven years ago from N. Attleboro, MA. Her Florida professional working life held several facets. Erin was most recently a waitress at the Crab Plant, and prior to that a waitress at Grumpy Gators, and a former data entry technician with Citrus Memorial Hospital; preschool teacher with America’s Angels, Lecanto. Erin was known for her “million dollar smile”, sense of humor, and laugh. She enjoyed decorating, traveling, refinishing furniture, antiquing and spending lots of quality time with her family and friends. Erin loved Florida, being near the water, her house, and was extremely proud of her “farm.” Erin was preceded in death by her mother, Gail (Boyer) Cain. She is survived by her son Zachary J. Cain, Homosassa, FL; her father John Cain and his wife Huang Jing, Homosassa, FL; sisters Jennifer Preston (husband Michael), Cumberland, R.I and Christina Irons (partner Gregg Grafton), Warwick, R.I; nieces Hayley and Sydney Preston, Cumberland, R.I., and Ashley Irons, Warwick, R.I., and her ex-husband Andrej Prost. A celebration of Erin’s life will be held on Saturday February 24th at 12 noon from Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL.
