Ezekiel "Zeke" Goodin

Ezekiel “Zeke” Goodin, 79, of Homosassa, passed away on Sat., July 9, 2016 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Hospice House, Lecanto, FL. A native of Barbourville, KY, he was born May 12, 1937 to Boyd and Pearl (Brown) Goodin, one of four children. Zeke, as he was known to many, served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1959, then in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1961. Mr. Goodin enjoyed a long career with United Parcel Service in Canton, Michigan for nearly 30 years and moved to Homosassa in 1996 from Aurora, Indiana. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Alta Goodin of Life Care Center in Lecanto, FL; son Duane Goodin (wife Linda), Westland, Michigan and daughter Sondra Gail Goodin, Homosassa, FL. and grandchildren Alyssa Gazdag (husband Christopher) of Canton, Michigan and Callie Goodin of Westland, Michigan, as well as a great grandson, Alexander Paul Gazdag, also of Canton, Michigan. In addition to his parents, Zeke was preceded in death by a son, Alan Scott Goodin, and his three siblings; Earl Goodin, Birdie Whitaker and Charles Goodin. A memorial service will be held on Tues., July 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM from Life Care Center, 3325 W. Jerwayne Lane, Lecanto, FL 34461 with military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL, taking place at 1:00 P.M. Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. www.wilderfuneral.com
