Florence Catherine Vehorn

Florence Catherine Vehorn, 94 of Homosassa, Florida died on Saturday, October 31, 2015. She was born on Monday, July 18, 1921 to William and Teresa (D'Alessandro) McCarthy in Brooklyn, New York. Florence was a retired office manager for the Recreation Department in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church and enjoyed crafting, cooking and fishing.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Vehorn; son, Ronald J. Vignola and by her brother, Francis McCarthy.

Survivors include her daughter, Stephanie Salay and companion Jerry Johnson of Homosassa, Florida; son, Daniel Vehorn and wife Kay Ellen of Safety Harbor, Florida; sister, June Armstrong of Redondo Beach, California and grandchildren, James Salay of Seattle, Washington and Shae and Amanda Vehorn of Safety Harbor, Florida. Friends will be received on Sun., Nov. 8, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Mon., Nov. 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Ryszard Stradomski, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Fountains Memoral Park, Homosassa. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast. Arrangements entrusted to Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa.
